Some people made a short video of my conversion project for some film thing! I was pretty nervous and don't like the way I sound on it, but anyways, it was a pretty fun experience.
Been bumps in the project, mostly due to the original batteries bought not being suitable, and the original methods devised to build the cells not being suitable. Originally I was going to build the packs using pressure to hold the cells together, but due to the high amperage draw, the cells need to be welded together. A welding machine is $5k. :(
Hi Tony, I am very interested in your project. Can you give any specs on your components? Motor, batteries, speed control, etc... I have an xB and was concidering the conversion also.
Hi Robert, Well, the finished car will hopefully have a 60 to 100 mile range at highway speeds, maybe 200 mile range at stop and go Los Angeles speeds where it will be used. :) 105HP peak, much faster than stock, and maybe a couple hundred pounds heavier than stock, but not too much heavier since it will be using lithium cells instead of lead-acid. - Tony
