Going to disable alternator on Civic
Going to try a test, going to disable the alternator on our Civic, and put in a high capacity battery pack to see if we can get better mileage. We are thinking this might gain us 10% better mileage...

A guy driving a a VW diesel ran this experiment on tdiclub.com. If memory server me correctly, he got somewhere around 10-15% higher fuel economy. He was already getting some insane mileage numbers before this test though.
What is the status of your conversion?
CAME ACROSS YOUR BLOG WHEN DOING A SEARCH FOR BATTERY CONVERSION OF MGB...looking to consider doing the same. Now wondering if close proximity of components make it infeasible. Wondering if Mr. Anonymous ever proceeded with his midget conversion? Live very close to Left Coast Gadgetry, plan on enlisitng their expertise as well.
